Cut out gluten and dairy and sugar, oh no!

One of my biggest eye rolls comes when I talk to yet another person, struggling with many mysterious symptoms, whose doctor has told them to cut out gluten and dairy and sugar.

The gluten and dairy and sugar are not the causes of the chronic pain, insomnia, weight gain, headaches, and hormonal imbalances these people are suffering from.

Yes, cutting these out might result in some improvement, but when you’re already feeling crappy, making big changes like these are so stressful.

So what is really going on? If the gut is not healthy, nothing else in the body can work well. 80% of the immune system is in the gut and if gut health is off the immune system goes haywire. It will be under constant stress and inflammation will get out of control.

And taking out some foods might make a small difference for a little while.

But it doesn’t solve anything.

A full gut reset solves so much more than cutting out foods. It is a bit more involved than just taking probiotics, but it is not as complicated as it sounds.
